In honor of Genocide prevention month Tacomasocialjustice.org will be sponsoring an event focused on the genocide in Darfur, Sudan. The program will include guest speakers and a candle light vigil in solidarity with the people of Darfur.

The speakers list will include:

Nick Coddington a teacher at Charles Wright Academy who has been honored as Educator of the Year by the Jewish Foundation for the Righteous and the Spirit of Anne Frank Award from the Anne Frank Center in New York City for his work on tolerance and justice issues.

A documentary about the Rwandan genocide created by local high school students.

Seth Weinberger – Assistant Professor of Politics and Government at the University of Puget Sound.

This event is presented by The Micah Project, Stand up for Darfur Tacoma and Tacoma Social Justice.
